Power of 75 Club

The Museum will be holding an afternoon tea club each 4th Sunday of the month as part of the Maldon Livewell Campaign, filled with oodles of tea/coffee, scrumptious cake and a carousel of fun/informative/entertaining activities relating to science, engineering, art, technology and maths and nutritional guidance. This will offer a regular face-to-face friendly link every month for people over 75 years of age who have little or no contact with family or friends. £2 per person per session

Megson at The Blue Boar

Four times nominated in the BBC Radio 2 Folk Awards and double winners of the Spiral Earth Awards, Megson (Stu and Debbie Hanna) draw heavily on their Teeside heritage to create a truly unique brand of folk music. The husband and wife duo bring an infectious mix of heavenly voals, lush harmonies and driving rhythmic guitars. Comprising of Debs Hanna (vocals, whistle, accordion) and Stu Hanna (guitar, mandola, banjo), Megson have gained fame on the British Folk scene not only for their arresting and intelligent songwriting but for their exquisite musicianship and northern humour.

For our next bi-monthly show, BATB is delighted to welcome two incredibly talented friends of the festival to play for us in Maldon. Many of you will know Ben Tyzack's wonderful, rootsy trio the SPIKEdrivers and also have seen Californian guitarist, singer and master songsmith Guy Tortora with his own band. A couple of years ago, Guy and Ben also started playing occasional gigs as a duo, mining a rich seam of material from their respective repertoires. They were last seen in Essex on the Barn stage at Blues at the Barns 2018, where they made a huge impression on festivalgoers. Now you have a chance to enjoy their music in the gorgeous, intimate setting of the Long Room at the historic Blue Boar, an evening not to be missed!
