The Urban Folk Quartet
Sunday 4th November 2018 20:00
Maldon Town Hall, Market Hill, Maldon   CM9 4RL
The Urban Folk Quartet have been energising and exciting Maldon audiences for the last six years with their fiddle-led music that draws heavily from celtic dance forms and traditional song, but from then on they are unlike any folk band you have ever heard of. Just as English country dance unassumingly met with big band jazz musicianship in the mid-twentieth century, the Urban Folk Quartet's approach to Folk ethos is to embrace any and every influence that genuinely makes sense of their time and place in their music. From funk grooves to middle-eastern melodies, afrobeat to north Indian rhythms, they all fuse to generate uplifting and vibrant music full of life and heart. Delivered by the incredible musicianship of Joe Broughton, Paloma Trigas, Dan Walsh and Tom Chapman, they are truly to be experienced.
Cost: £16.50
