Stow Maries @ War

A truly spectacular event recreating events at the Aerodrome from during the Great War. See history come alive with historic photographs taken from between 1916 and 1918 being recreated, witness 'The Great War Channel' in action filming scenes for its YouTube channel and take part in this unique and entertaining flying event.
Cost: £15 per adult in advance, free admission for up to 3 under 16s with each paying adult

5m E of Maldon 3m W of Tiptree. From B1022 take Loamy Hill rd. At the Xrds L into Witham rd. Follow NGS signs. We have designed this garden around existing shrubs and trees over the last 6 years. Allow your mind to wander as you journey from one section to another. Sit and take in the atmosphere, in the many places the garden has to offer. Wildlife and nature walk hand in hand to create a peaceful atmosphere. WC available.Home-made teas.

The Maldon Traithlon

The event consists of an Open Water Swim in the River Blackwater, Cycle on the quiet and scenic roads of the Dengie Peninsula and finishes with a lapped Run around the beautiful Promenade Park and Hythe Quay. Sprint (750m/28km/5km) and Olympic (1.5km/45km/10km) distances available. With plenty of facilities for the whole family, activities throughout the day and countless cafes lining the route the event is sure to draw a huge crowd of spectators and provide a great atmosphere for all.

Borders are planted for a long season of interest with many unusual species, particularly perennials. Rock garden full of spring and autumn bulbs and alpines. A rill leading to watersteps, and circular circular pool overlooked by a summerhouse. Small vegetable garden.
