Essex Wildlife Trust - Blue House Farm Fete

The Essex Wildlife Trust at Blue House Farm are hosting a summer fete to celebrate the best of British summer time and raise awareness and funds for the charity. The day will be a country fete theme with a focus on showcasing rural crafts, traditions, local produce and wildlife. There will be live demonstrations such as heavy horses and chainsaw carving, live music from British folk and Americana bands, tractor trailer rides, guided walks and fun and games for all ages. There will be a beer and cider tent, bbq and food stalls. If you would like to apply for a stall at the fete please e.mail harrys@essexwt.org.uk for an application form, including the details of your stall.

Farm Open Day

Come and find out what we do at our Farm Open Day. Learn about biodynamic farming, the work we do and how we plan to expand our amazing work. You'll also meet our animals and get a chance to feed the sheep. About us: We are a 210 acre biodynamic/organic community owned farm near Goldhanger. Our farm is home to rare breed cattle and sheep, along with bees and laying hens. We also grow vegetables, fruit and herbs. The farm is biodynamic and so managed in a holistic, ecological and ethical way. Where we are: We are nestled right by the stunning Blackwater Estuary, a mile down a farm track off the Maldon Road (B1026). Parking: Free in the farmyard (between the barns) Wheelchair friendly/drop off point by barn/disabled toilets Spaces are limited so booking in advance is essential by either phone or email.

Echoes of History

You can expect to see one of the largest gatherings of Historic Military Vehicles and equipment from all major periods in South East England, featuring the best historic groups, re-enactors and living history displays in the country to give our visitors a real experience of life in times past. There’s a brilliant turn out of military vehicles of all sizes across all eras and nationalities, as well as classic cars, bikes and buses. Don’t miss the arena activities that will take place during the day, with military vehicle parades where you can see these historic vehicles in motion, allowing you to get close to a military convoy that includes tanks and armoured vehicles, see and hear them roaring around the arena as well as learning a little about their history. As always, there will be our exciting battles and demonstrations. There's so much more for all the family to get involved in, as well as all the stuff to watch, see and explore.
