With it's avenues of mature trees and grass recreation areas running down the banks of the river Blackwater, Maldon's Promenade Park has been a summer haven for many generations of families.
Promenade Park has changed greatly over the recent years and features a children's play area in the valley which includes the galleon, sandpit, an aerial runway and the popular water splash park to cool the kids off in the hot summer months. The latest addition is a row of beach huts ajacent to the Galleon and can be rented as a base for the day
Ajacent to the Splash Park is the Galleon, a large climbing and sliding activity structure, a sand pit, aerial runway and a large model boating and crabbing lake. You will also find a skate board park and BMX track in the park.
In the summer you will find a junior funfair including dodgems, battery bumper boats, Formula 3000 cars, huge inflatable slide, chair-o-planes, prize every time stall. Tokens £1.25 each or 10 for £10. Please note that the funfair is now located in the car park field opposite the Splash Park - look for the signs.
PIRATES BAY ADVENTURE GOLF

SWINGS & SLIDES
At the other end of the park there is a traditional children's playground with swings and slides and a maze plus a wildlife garden.
EAT & DRINK
There are plenty of takeaway kiosks in the park to feed those hungry tummies or cool off with a drink or ice cream. Promenade Park is ajacent to Hythe Quay, the home of the Maldon Thames barges and also two pubs, both with restaurants, should you fancy a drink or a meal or venture up the High Street to one of the many eateries available.
As Promenade Park is located on the banks of the river Blackwater, you can sit on the wall and enjoy the view of the estuary or take a closer view by taking a boat trip on the river.
Take a trip on the Viking Saga. Short cruises up the Blackwater Estuary depart from the Hythe Quay ... see here for details.
